We ARE doing it again!
Meet our team: The Legend of DOT, DOT, DOT, DOT, DOT, DOT, DOT:
After achieving honors for creativity, teamwork and innovation in regional and state academic tournaments, the team called "The Legend of Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot" from Cummings Valley Elementary School has earned the right to compete in Destination Imagination's Global Finals, the world’s largest celebration of student creativity, to be held May 24-27 in Knoxville, Tennessee. Team members include Chris Lipscomb, Zeb Fuller, Milo Lujan, Katelyn Fair, Breck Leon, Carter Barthelmes, and Owen Keller. Please help The Legend of Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot, Dot raise enough money for registration, lodging, and travel costs. Any amount is helpful!
Among their accomplishments, this team of 3rd and 4th graders has harvested microwave parts to create an electromagnet, created a stage that can move team members across the performance area, and built a working small-scale Tesla coil. Please help them to have the experience of a lifetime competing against teams from over 30 countries. Let's show the world what Tehachapi is made of!
Destination Imagination is a fun, hands-on system of learning that fosters students' creativity, courage, and curiosity through open-ended academic Challenges in the fields of STEM, fine arts, and service learning. In working to solve DI Challenges, teams learn 21st century skills (creativity, critical thinking, collaboration, communication, citizenship and courage), step outside of their comfort zones to pursue ideas and make presentations, and build on their unique strengths. Participants also learn patience, flexibility, persistence, ethics, and respect for others and their ideas. Teams showcase their solutions at a tournament.
